Scholarship Fund ~

WWCEC will grant two (2) scholarships for up to $1000 each.

These funds are for training, books and training supplies.

Scholarship funds must be used within 12 months of the award date.

Funds are paid directly to the training institution.

Criteria ~

Applicants must either be working with a company that is located in Washington County or if not employed, applicant must reside within Washington County or must be a student currently attending an educational institution within Washington County.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time that he/she begins school.

Applicants must be applyi8ng for a school within the State of Oregon.

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to benefit from vocational training or continued higher education.

Applicants must demenstrate they have the commitment to successfully complete the funded training.

Applicant must participate in an interview with the WWCEC Scholarship Committee.

Application Materials ~

Original WWCEC Scholarship Application.

Industry Research.  The applicant is required to research the industry in which the training is desires.  Information to be included:
     Industry growth forecasted for desired occupation;
     Necessary degrees, license or certifications required for desired occupation;
     Wage scales and career potential for position;
     Include the resources used to obtain information.

Submit two (2) original Professional Reference Forms from a current or recent employer, professor, teacher, coach, case worker, etc...

Application Timeline ~

January 1, 2012         Accepting Applications

March 30, 2012          Application Deadline

April 23, 2012             Interview Process Begins

May 11, 2012              Decision will be made and applicants will be notified

June 15, 2012            Winners will be presented at WWCEC Board Meeting
